For art conservation reasons, the following decorations are permitted but have some guidelines for usage:
- Flowers – Flowers and greenery are certainly permitted within Gandel Hall but please note these items will need to pest checked and sprayed before entering the building. This includes bridal party bouquets.
- Fairy lights – Please note nothing can be strung from the ceiling of Gandel Hall. However, decorators instead string fairy lights from unobstructive poles located on the sides of the room.
- Candles – Open flames are not permitted at the NGA. We have a selection of LED pillar candles which you are welcome to use or you can bring your own.
- For other decoration queries, please reach out to your dedicated coordinator for further advice.
We provide the following complimentary items:
- Chairs
- Tables
- Black or white linens (tablecloths and napkins)
- Plates
- Glassware
- Crockery
- Easels (we have 2 available to borrow)
- Circular mirror bases
- LED pillar candles
**Please note you are welcome to supply your own or source these items from a decorator if you wish for a different look**
Gandel Hall has a small green room that we use as a private bridal space. It includes a private toilet, vanity, full length mirror, hooks to hang clothing and can seat 3-4 people.
For conservation reasons of our gardens, please note that the only confetti permitted at the NGA is eucalyptus. This can be sourced online or DIY’d!
For any weddings that have booked either their ceremony or reception at the NGA, we allow for the couple to take photos inside with the art. Please note the following guidelines for this:
- For security reasons, all photo locations will need to be specified ahead of time and not chosen on the day.
- During gallery hours, you will need to be escorted by your coordinator. Please be aware that this is a public space and we kindly ask for the space to be shared with members of the public.
- Outside of Gallery hours, a security escort in addition to your coordinator will be required. This is an additional charge.
- Small bouquets that have been pest checked and sprayed can be brought in for photos. Large bouquets will not be permitted.
- No flash photography or tripods are permitted.
- Please be aware that photos taken within the Gallery space are for personal use only in accordance with the Copyright Act. If the wedding photographer or relevant third party wishes to use photographs featuring the images for any purpose (including social media), they must seek permission from the relevant copyright holder.
